Making sure the milk Ontario families drink is of the highest quality is a big responsibility. It's something Ontario dairy farmers are committed to, and it's reflected in every aspect of what they do.
Dairy farmers are mindful of their environmental footprint for many reasons – not the least of which is ensuring future generations get to enjoy the same high-quality milk and dairy products we do today.
Technological advancements have helped make today's dairy farms more efficient, and able to consistently produce the same high-quality milk. They have also made cows healthier and more comfortable.
To produce high-quality dairy, dairy farmers need to follow high standards. Both federal and provincial governments play an important role in setting standards for hygiene, sanitation, testing and more.
Keeping the herd healthy and happy is one of a dairy farmer's most important responsibilities – and they're committed to providing their cows with excellent care.
